Aghios
Sostis is a small resort between Keri Lake and Laganas which has a
small beach, the area offers many tavernas and a few shops and has
verandas on the waterfront which are perfect for an evening meal after a
hard day's sunbathing.
Alykes and Alykanas are two small resorts next to each other on
the Northeast Coast of Zakynthos 20 kilometres from Zakynthos Town
separated by a narrow river. These family resorts offer all the usual
restaurants and bars and many families return here every year for their
holidays. Alykes is named after the salt pans which are located in the
resort. The beach in this area is large and sandy and you can always
find a quiet space to relax and enjoy the sun.
Amoudi is a small resort on the outskirts of Alykanas, this area
has a few tavernas and facilities but most guests in this resort hire a
car to visit the surrounding areas there are villas and small self
catering units in this area and again this area has wonderful
countryside all around. The beaches here consist of small coves and
crystal clear waters.
Argassi was the first resort to be developed on the island and
offers a wide range of hotels, restaurants and shops this resort is
popular with families and couples alike for its full range of
facilities, including a small road train with regular services into
Zakynthos Town. The beach in Argassi is very narrow but all hotels have
swimming pools and many have sea views. Also Argassi is only a short
drive from Vassilikos which definitely offers the best beaches on the
island.
Gerakas
is a quiet unspoilt area of Zakynthos with a gorgeous beach a couple of
tavernas and generally an area of natural beauty. There are very few
places to stay in this resort just some small cottages and villas for
those who are looking for real tranquillity. This area is carefully
protected as it is one of the main nesting grounds for Caretta Caretta.
Kalamaki is a family resort and boasts a 7 kilometres long sandy beach,
the largest on the island, the hotels in this area are mostly newly
built and therefore offer the most up to date facilities. There is a
long parade of shops and restaurants so visitors here will find
everything they require and for a really lively night out this resort is
only about 3 kms from the non stop centre of Laganas. Again this is a
family resort with visitors who return year after year.
Keri/Keri Lake is a small unspoilt resort in one of the prettiest
areas of Zakynthos, the small fishing harbour and Greek feel of this
resort make it a really unique area of the island, surrounded by olive
groves and fruit trees visitors here definitely feel that they are in
Greece. The resort offers good quality accommodation has a few tavernas,
ouzeries, a local bakers, a supermarket and peace and quiet.
Laganas: A Resort for the young or the young at heart, whilst we
recommend the centre of Laganas only for the young, we offer within our
program properties which are located on the outskirts of Laganas in
picturesque almost countryside areas away from all the noise and
partying. Many visitors love Laganas for its noisy nightlife but want to
be able to sleep and relax in comfort as well. The beach of this resort
is long and sandy and of course is a nesting ground for the loggerhead
turtles.
Lithakia is a residential village which is surrounded by olive
trees and amongst these trees there are lovely villas for families,
mostly with private pools, where you can relax in a lovely location.
Lithakia is set just above the resort of Aghios Sostis and offers
several tavernas, mini markets and a petrol station. Most visitors in
this area hire a car to explore the surrounding areas.
Plaka Beach is a small resort between St. Nicholas Beach and
Gerakas. This resort offers a lovely sandy beach with taverna and snack
bar and free sun beds to relax and enjoy a long drink in a perfect
location. The beach here is not as busy as St. Nicholas and you can
sunbathe in peace.
Porto
Koukla is a small resort next to Aghios Sostis and is within walking
distance. The resort consists of two hotels and a few self catering
units, the sea views from this resort of wonderful and there is a narrow
beach which offers boat trips to Keri Caves, Marathonissi or just for a
round of turtle spotting as they swim past to Laganas.
Tsilivi Planos is a very green area nestling amongst olive trees,
fruit groves and boasting a long sandy beach where the blue sea
stretches as far as Cape Yidakia which ends the curve of the bay and
offering various water sports facilities. Tsilivi is popular with
families and offers a full range of facilities including mini golf,
bowling, laser park and of course a full range of restaurants, bars and
shops.
Vassilikos is a wonderfully unspoilt area of the island which stretches
from Argassi to Gerakas, this winding road passes lovely beaches, such
as Banana Beach, Porto Zoro, Plaka Beach, St Nicholas Beach, Kaminia
Beach, Dafni Beach and many more, it offers gorgeous views as you drive
along the whole way and most visitors to the island will visit this area
at least once.
Zante Town
is the main town of the island offers shops of all types. In the most
part the main shopping area is paved allowing visitors to stroll along
and browse the shop windows, there are very nice coffee bars where you
can sit enjoy a drink and watch the world go by as well as many good
restaurants for a meal. Above the town in Bohali there is an area with
great views and even better ice creams.
